 Paul Williamson
Biography
|
 |
Born in Adelaide South Australia, Paul started
swinging golf clubs from as soon as he could walk but
soccer was his main sport as a kid. This was until he
discovered golf was his real passion at the age of
fourteen. He joined up at his local club, Highercombe
Golf and Country Club, with some high school friends and
got lessons from his local golf pro straight away.
Within a few years Paul had decided that a career in
golf was for him and he began his traineeship at
Flagstaff Hill Golf Club and became a full member of the
Australian PGA in January 1999. He received the Trainee
of the Year Award for South Australia in his final year.
Paul moved to the Gold Coast in 2004 after meeting
his partner, Joanne to live with her and compete full
time on tour.In 2009 Paul and Jo's first daughter, Kiera
arrived and in 2011 their second daughter Erin came
along. When not on the golf course Paul enjoys spending
time with his girls, watching almost any type of sport
and is a keen Adelaide United and Adelaide Crows fan.

 Paul has worked in many different roles in the golf
industry since 1994. These include

Paul has also been involved in many corporate golf
events from organising, to playing in them. He was the
QLD PGA Tournament Coordinator in 2009 which gave him a
real insight into the behind the scenes world of
professional/corporate golf and what it really takes to
run a successful golf event.
Coaching
 Paul's holistic approach to coaching is based around
good communication and gaining a very clear
understanding of what his pupils want to achieve in the
game. Helping them to clarify and achieve their goals is
his passion. Most golfers don't have the time to
practice as much as they would like so Paul has become
an expert at improving golf games quickly through his
years of coaching, playing and self-study. Golf specific
mental training is a specialty for Paul.
Paul
provides coaching and advice to all levels of golfers in
each of the following areas;
Technique
Use of the V1 Golf app for technique correction and
improvement tracking. Use of various swing aids
including Explaner, Swingsetter, putting aids and many
more
Mental
Practical
and easy application of golf mental techniques learnt
from the world's leading psychologists and mental game
experts such as Dr Karl Morris, Alan Fine, Dr Bob
Rotella and many more. Deliberate practice to
maximise improvement on the course not just at the range
is a key to his coaching.
Physical
Consulting with world leading golf specific
physiotherapists, based at Griffith University, to help
identify physical limitations in his clients and areas
for improvement.
Tactical
Oncourse playing lessons to help with course and
game management. Skills tests to increase the pupils
awareness of strengths and weaknesses in their own games
Equipment
Use of the PGA of
Australia's club fitting system to make sure his pupils
clubs are correct for them. Able to supply most
popular brands fitted to his customers' needs A fully
equipped golf club repair shop with most repairs
completed within 48 hours
Playing Career
 Paul has 12 victories, 20 runner ups and countless top
ten finishes to his name. Since turning professional
Paul has attended over 1000 professional golf
tournaments around Australia and overseas, bringing a
vast amount of experience and knowledge with him.
